About Hooked On Trout Farm

Welcome to Hooked On Trout! We are thrilled to introduce ourselves as the proud owners of this family-owned business, which we have owned since 2019. Our love for the great outdoors inspired us to start this venture, and we are dedicated to providing our customers with the very best quality trout.

We are a husband and wife team with over three decades of experience between us. Melissa, with her Bachelor's degree in Marine Biology, and David, with 25 years of experience in raising trout, are at the helm of Hooked On Trout. The trout farm was started in 1996 under Dan Longnecker. Both of us worked for the previous owners before taking over, and we are thrilled to continue the tradition of providing what we believe to be the best trout in Ohio! In our spare time, we enjoy being on our farm and homestead in Castalia, Ohio, where we breed and rear our own pigs, quail, rabbits, and goats for meat and milk. We are extremely proud of our chocolate lab breeding program and our ability to match the perfect puppy to the owner. We also enjoy camping, hiking, hunting, and of course, fishing!

Quality is the key focus at Hooked On Trout, and we use the most up-to-date practices to raise our trout. 

We believe in providing our customers with the best possible experience, which is why we offer a wide variety of trout species that cater to different tastes and preferences. We work with a number of sports clubs and Metroparks in Ohio. We take great pride in our family tradition of excellence and are excited to share our passion for trout with you.
